One of the oldest and most selective universities in China, Fudan University consists of 29 schools and departments, with seventy undergraduate disciplines. The University confers bachelor's degrees in seventy academic disciplines, and master's degrees in two hundred and twenty five disciplines (with fifty of them established by the University itself), and doctoral degrees in twenty-four Level I and one hundred and fifty-three Level II academic disciplines (with twenty-nine of them established by the University itself).

Fudan has an enrollment of roughly 27,000  full-time degree-seeking students. Another 20,000 study at the schools of Continuing and Online Education. There are nearly 3,000 international students studying at Fudan at any given time.

Accommodations
Students on exchange will be expected to live in the international student dormitories or find independent accommodation on their own. In China, international students are required to live in international student housing. Therefore, students wishing to meet local Chinese students will need to get involved in extra-curricular activities on campus.

Cost
UVA students will pay their regular tuition rate and fees to UVA for the term they are on a UVA Exchange Program, as well as a leave of absence fee each semester. Students are additionally responsible for room and board, transportation, and personal expenses while on a UVA Exchange Program. Students will pay the host institution or make their own arrangements for accommodations. Check the host institution web site for accommodation choices, cost, and application procedures.

Students are responsible for booking and paying for their own international airfare.
UVA students are required to purchase CISI emergency medical and accident insurance.
